A Day in the Life
A typical day could look like me arriving at the clients house early in the morning cooking him some breakfast then giving him his medication. After tidying up the house a bit doing some housekeeping could possibly sit down to watch the baseball game on TV, maybe we could do some light exercises to get the blood flowing and work on his mobility or go get some fresh air and go for a walk. By the time we get back and settled in It could be time to start thinking about what I'm gonna cook him for lunch or dinner. One thing that’s very important to me is also just to have good one on one conversations in order to find out how my client is really feeling and to see what I can do to help in any way. Then when it's that time to go home I get up, shake his hand with a smile on my face and let him know I'll see him tomorrow..
"Traditional elderly care services consist of mainly employees working for an agency that overcharge the client, then takes half the employees money leaving the employee with no sense of appreciation or gratitude from the employer therefore, when they go to work every day as a caregiver, the effort that is given is mediocre at best with no real sense of pride and lack of effort when it comes to the job they do there is never no real connection or relationship made with the client because coming to work has just become strictly for a paycheck.
